With Gas prices continuing to soar in America and around the world, we wonder why the heavy cars? SUVs and Pick up trucks are renowned for their heavy usage on gas per mile yet they are the most popular cars around America. Why would that be? People keep buying them, despite how high the fuel prices are going. Maybe Americans love their big cars enough to ignore the high prices and consider it lower then it could have been. Next time you fill up think about how many miles you plan on going and how you can save on the cost of gas.

Of course, there are really gas efficient SUV's out there for you to use. I'm about to list a few for you to look over and tell you exactly why they are value for money.

Lets introduce you to the Silverado and it's amazing twin, the Silverado hybrid. These two trucks are not only powerful, sleek and resembling a body builder, were that body builder an SUV truck, they have amazing gas per mile value. The Silverado has 15 mpg in the city and a nice little 20 mpg on the highway. It's hybrid, more powerful twin (although more expensive then it's counterpart) takes an amazing 20 mpg in city and 23 mpg on the highway roads. If you consider that the Silverado hybrid is only 3,500 dollars more expensive than its twin, the Silverado and you weigh that up with the money you'd save between the two per month, which would be the best choice for you?

Moving on now, to the Ford F-150. This eco friendly, mean looking SUV is not standard at all. With this model they had made sure to try and incorporate any type of engine you might think you'd like in your SUV so that instead of rivals, the F-150 has a range of different engines. The mile to gallon rate in the city is a bit more disappointing then the Silverado with 16 mpg on city roads and 23 mpg on highways. As you can see, the F-150 likes the open roads far more so make sure you're a traveler when you take this mean machine.

There are two sleeker models for those wanting a more classy ride, out on the market with low mile per gallon ratings. The first model to catch our eye is the Toyota Highlander. This sleek and beautiful SUV is made for the city and the highway boosting about 280 horsepower to go with a high mpg of 28 on both City and highway roads. Probably your best choice I'd say.

Another Ford makes its way into our money savers category since it's the cheapest SUV around. The Ford Explorer has a four cylinder engine and a rating of 17 mpg in the city while on the highway it has a larger rating of 28 mpg.

A hard decision to make between these five amazing cars but the perfect one is waiting out there. Just find it.
