Door Does Not Open
If you are using an automatic garage operator with a remote controller, check the remote control battery if it still provides sufficient power to transmit signal. If the problem is in the battery, it may be caused by a failure in proper installation. Your receiver may not be able to perceive signals effortlessly.
If there is nothing wrong with the transmitter and the signal, check the track. There might be something obstructing the track or it may already be a little rusty. Door Does Not Close
Your door opens but it does not close, what gives? It may be due to the light beam sensor. New models of door operators now have an integrated beam sensor that can sense if there is something obstructive its path. This serves as a safety measure to prevent crushing something or prevent mishaps. Once it senses that something is obstructing its way, it immediately reverts and opens.
If this is the problem, you should check the installation of the beam sensor. If it is not installed, it may cause it to sense anything that is not in the path of the door of your garage which will then cause a failure in closing the door.
It Makes Odd Squeaky Sound And Vibrations
Chain-driven openings are usually noisier. This also produces more vibrations than the more sophisticated belt-driven door operators. However, if you perceive that it produces more sound and vibration than normal, there may be something wrong with the chains or the belt. If the movement is fluid, check for rust or for damaged areas. Replace if necessary.
