There has been a big hype around all the “Run your Car on Water” kits recently. Everyone promises you to save gas, boost your mileage by 100% and make you look good and environment friendly. However, when asking how it works, you often get the answer “With HHO”. What is that HHO? No one will tell you.
HHO, also known as Oxyhydrogen, is a mixture of two gases: hydrogen and oxygen. As the name suggests, the hydrogen to oxygen ratio is 2:1. This is a very special state of matter that scientists still do not fully understand. This mixture of gases is highly combustible and can easily reach over 2000 degrees Celsius (about 3600 degrees Fahrenheit). Because of its high temperature, burning HHO has been used in the platinum industry, where high temperatures are required.
To create HHO, all “Run your Car on Water” kits use the same, safe and effective method: water electrolysis.
Electrolysis is the breaking of matter with electric current. Water electrolysis just breaks water apart to its two components: hydrogen and oxygen. With these two gases, HHO can be made and used to power a car. Since the HHO is formed from water, it’s said that you run your car on water.
When the current flows through the water, the hydrogen atoms and oxygen atoms are separated from each other to form the gaseous state. Since opposite charges attract each other, hydrogen, being relatively positive, is attracted to the negative electrode called cathode. Oxygen, more negatively charged, is attracted to the positive anode. The electrodes are covered to collect the gases and send them to HHO processing, and from there to burning.
As you can see, the whole process can be done on demand, and no hydrogen or oxygen is stored on your car. This makes the whole electrolysis and “Run your Car on Water” kits be safe and reliable.
