Cars by the Korean auto making giant – Hyundai, have become synonymous with 'cheap cars', as people are popularly saying 'think Hyundai think low-price'. Hyundai has become a popular brand all over for its hot wheel creations like Elantra, Accent, Tucson, Sonata, Getz and much more. The prices for Hyundai cars trigger off from as low as 10,000 $. The brand is currently offering special rebates on its cars. For the Indian market, where people rely more on public transport or two wheelers due to the high price of cars, Hyundai has promised a car by 2011 that would be retailed at 3,500 $.
The Hyundai's Namyang Technology Research Center is believed to be currently working on a budget vehicle. The car which is expected to be manufactured in India, will hit the global market at an ultra-low cost which would be half the current price of its barebones car – Santro. The mass market cars by Hyundai are being received very well by the people. The company is trying to think out of the box by producing quirky and individualistic cars and has decided to hit as a niche market player. The car maker has always been the attention grabber for its finest set of coupes, family vehicles and sports utility cars.
Besides, Hyundai has also started thinking seriously about launching its hybrid cars. The company is hoping to release it hybrid model that will be able to run both on petrol and electricity. The car is to be launched first in South Korea before being unveiled worldwide. By the closing of 2012, Hyundai is expecting to come up with more advanced technologies in its hybrid business to plan a sports car variant. Blue-Will, which is a concept plug-in hybrid car by the car maker, was unveiled in March which hinted towards the possible release of its hybrid sports car. With the launch of its hybrid sports vehicles, the company is aiming to cater largely to the American consumers.
