My wife and I both struggle with sinus infections. It seems like we have read virtually every hokey remedy put forth on the web, only to be constantly disappointed. After pulsating nasal irrigation and drinking apple cider vinegar to no avail, we were always forced to trudge off to our local medical doctor for a round of antibiotics. A specialist even wanted to perform surgery on my wife.
Then the unexpected happened. A medical doctor chosen at random recommended a solution to sinusitis other than antibiotics. He still wrote out a prescription for antibiotics, but he suggested that I wait to fill the prescription until I first tried the other remedy. The doc said that the treatment works 80% of the time for his patients.
Here is the sinus cure I was given. Pick up a NeilMed ® Sinus Rinse kit and a bottle of Povidone Iodine (Betadine). Both products are available over the counter at your local drugstore. Boil water and allow it to cool to a lukewarm temperature. Add the water, one salt packet from the NeilMed ® kit and two drops of Betadine to the rinse bottle. Follow the directions for performing the nasal rinse. If the directions are followed, there should be little or no discomfort.
Depending upon the severity of the infection, up to a solid week of treatment (2-3 times per day) may be necessary before symptoms subside. If the infection is not yet well entrenched, you may feel remarkably better after only 1-2 days. Continue using the remedy 10 – 14 days after symptoms disappear for the same reason you would continue a course of antibiotics even though you feel back to normal — to ensure that all bacteria are destroyed. Since being handed this cure, I have had no need for antibiotics or surgery.
