The X Factor television programme (as always) is a massive talking point for weekend tv and it got me thinking about why that is. Everything about the programme has to be something spectacular, from the staging of it, the hairstyles and outfits the judges wear, the kookiness of the contestants…every little bit of it is surrounded by controversy and analysis. The most crucial ‘ingredient’ is that people talk about it and remember it.
The same could be said of gift choices. It’s nice when the gift you have put so much effort into choosing is remembered and spoken about (in a positive way of course) for years to come. We’ve all had at least one present like that and it’s normally one with ‘the X Factor’. Thinking about my favourites that I’ve received over the years, they have been either made especially for me or are almost one of a kind. And I hate to say it, but I always feel quite smug that nobody is likely to have the same thing as me. That’s why personalised gifts are so great.
So whilst giving or receiving anything is great, you always tend to know when you’ve really picked something special and it doesn’t even need to cost a lot. It could even be something that is a reminder of a personal moment or a private joke that makes it more of an exclusive, exciting concept. So when you’re shopping this Christmas, think about giving a present with the ‘X Factor.’ You’ll enjoy choosing it as much as someone enjoys receiving it!
