Do you like money? I like money. Actually, money is just paper. I think what I’m attracted to is the freedom that money brings. No doubt everyone wants more freedom.
It’s the difference between working 40 hours a week at a job we despise, and spending 40 hours a week with our kids, spouse or significant other. What does freedom look like to you?
Does it mean travelling? Does it mean vacation time with family? Freedom can let us do whatever it is we want.
I, for one, don’t believe in society’s law that says we should spend money on school, to find a “job”, to pay endless bills, to retire at the age of 65 with little to no money to “live” on.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a policeman. The idea of nobility and helping people out were very attractive to me. Somewhere along the way, I let go of that ideal.
I was told that people judge you on what you own; the house you live in and the car you drive. Religion was another but let’s not get into that right now. Does this sound familiar?
Our parents grew up being told this by their parents, so it’s no wonder they passed it on to us. For the past 150 years or so, we’ve been living in a materialistic phase.
Do you think the Egyptians or the Mayans were materialistic? Heck no! They were living in a religious phase. The changes take generations of course. They don’t happen overnight.
Slowly but surely, I believe people are moving out of a materialistic consciousness, and into a “happiness” one. Gone are the days where we are judged by our professions and paychecks. Nowadays people want inner peace. People want to be happy. Is it any wonder more and more homosexuals are becoming public? People want to be free.
So how does one achieve financial freedom?
We’ve probably all searched online for ways to earn money from home. For anyone who has, you know that the options are overwhelming.
You can do surveys, own a website, be an affiliate, and the list goes on and on. How do you know what works?
The trick is to find something you are passionate about. Passion will take you a long way- especially when you tell friends and family about your plans and they shoot them down. So passion is a good start, but you need a strong enough reason for doing it. You need a “why”.
Passion sets you on fire, and your “why” keeps you motivated. Maybe you want to be able to retire your parents… Maybe you want to spend time with your kids and wife at home..
Maybe you want to travel to world with your spouse. Your “why” will ensure that you “keep on truckin’…”
If you love to write, you can easily work from home creating articles or ads, and earn a passive income. There are website owners who are willing to pay for traffic, exposure, advertizing… There are large companies willing to get brand recognition out there, and to do that they need writers. These paying jobs could be as easy as what I am doing right now.
There is a catch, though.
Nothing will happen if you do nothing. There needs to be action. Freedom won’t just knock on your door or take you by the hand.
My recommendation is to start searching. If you’re serious about this check out books, surf the internet, read through the newspaper or even talk to like-minded people.
