At some point, most of us have wondered if the guy we were dating was cheating on us. Unfortunately, some women have had to ask themselves “is my boyfriend married”. In a perfect world, this would never happen to you, but since we live in the real world. At some point, you may wonder, is the guy you’re dating married? Luckily, there are a few warning signs that something is amiss.
So you’re in a new relationship with Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome. He pays attention to you when he should, he actually cares what you have to say, and he laughs at your dumb jokes. He even brings you gifts. He actually gets why a dandelion from the front yard is sometimes better than a dozen roses, he knows it’s because it means he was actually thinking of you. He’s everything you could want in a boyfriend, so why do you feel uneasy?
Maybe things seem too good to be true, and honestly, they might be. There is a shortage of decent guys these days, and the perfect ones don’t seem to come along very often. Usually they’re already spoken for. Unfortunately, as much as we love guys, they cannot always be trusted. This is probably the number one reason to wonder is the guy you’re dating married, because sometimes that awesome guy is really a jerk in disguise.
So is my boyfriend married? More than likely the answer is no. However, you should still be on the look out for warning signs. They might not mean he’s married, but they definitely mean that not everything is peachy in your relationship. For starters, has he introduced you to his friends or family yet? If you’ve broached the subject and he doesn’t want you to meet them, it may be because he doesn’t want anyone to know that he has a girlfriend on the side. In some cases, the whole family may be the cheating kind, or might not like his wife, and therefore would not be concerned that he was seeing someone else. If you find yourself in this situation, turn and run away as fast as you can.
Are you able to just drop by his house unexpected? Are you able to call him at home? Does he make up excuses to get off the phone when you do call? If he lays down any unusual rules about visits or calls, you might want to test those rules at least once. Find a good reason to call him anyway, just to make sure there isn’t a wife there to answer the phone. It should definitely be noted though, that if you’re worried about your boyfriend being married, while you should find out for sure, you don’t want to ruin a good relationship because you were too untrusting. Communication is the key, and trust goes both ways. If you keep the lines of communication open, you have a much better chance of having an honest relationship.
