So your boyfriend’s birthday is coming up and you want to give him an extraordinary gift right? Choosing birthday gifts for your boyfriend can be a piece of cake if you know him well.
Just mix and match a few of few of his favorite things to come up with some truly unusual gift ideas. Here are 3 mix and match ideas that you can put together in a jiffy.
1) Candy/DVD cake – What are his favorite types of movies? Is he a science-fiction fan? If so then he’ll probably love the Babylon 5 DVD set or the entire Twilight Zone Series. ‘V’ the series is a cult classic but if you prefer more recent fare then go for the exciting ‘Fringe’ tv series. Choose a set of DVD’s based on his passions and interests.
Does he have a sweet tooth to boot too? Everyone loves certain types of candy bars and if you’ve been attentive you’ve probably noticed his favorites. Just get a selection of all the candy bars he usually prefers. Now you are ready to assemble your candy dvd cake.
Start with placing one pair of DVDs at the bottom and assemble the candy on it. Continue stacking layers of DVDs and candy bars until you’ve run out of both. You’ve got a truly unique cake which he’ll adore demolishing!
2) Money/Gift Tree – We all love the green stuff! There’s no gift like money especially when it’s growing on his very own tree. Decorate a little tree with dollar bills of different denominations along with gift certificates. The certificates don’t have to be really expensive – the idea is to pack in as much variety as you can.
You could include gift certificates from a music or game store, movie tickets, game tickets etc. This is one gift that keeps on giving especially when you consider birthday gifts for a boyfriend! He can either pluck some money or a few gifts, whenever he feels like it and give himself a well-deserved treat.
3) ‘My Hero’ Movie – If you’re a little savvy with Windows Moviemaker you could put together a very cute movie featuring him combining old videos of him, photographs and different types of music. Use his childhood pictures, any black and white photos if you can get them, along with recent shots.
You can make this movie extremely sentimental or funny depending on the songs you combine with the visuals. It might take a little time but it’ll be worth seeing him guffawing over the finished video in the end. Burn it on a dvd. You can also easily create an appropriate visual and have it printed on the dvd and the dvd cover for a truly professional feel.
Use your knowledge of his interest so create your own mix and match gift ideas. They’ll be a lot more unexpected and double the fun since you are appealing to more than one of his interests or passions in some way. Mix and match gifts can be really electrifying birthday gifts for a boyfriend, since they not only demonstrate that you care enough to take so much effort but also reveal that you’ve paid close attention to what truly pleases him.
