Coveted Bunco Prizes
Each month my wife comes home from bunco and tells me about the cool prize she did not win. When she finally won the prize for having the bunco gift at the end of the evening, she drank out of the wine glass, hand painted with dice, etc for a week. She looked quite silly drinking milk out of a wine glass!
I have been told that many hostesses fret over picking out the perfect bunco gift, while others make a mad dash to a local retailer the day of the event. What are some of the best bunco gifts? Many on-line retailers sell Bunco bracelets, charms, and shirts that you can not go wrong with. I would stray away from earrings due to the metal sensitivity.
Gift cards are always the perfect gift, or these days, perhaps a gas card! My wife purchased a gift certificate to our local liquor store since many of her buddies love wine. Restaurants, coffee shops, card stores, home decorating stores, and nail salons are a big hit. One hostess forgot about the gift and put cash in a gift bag minutes before her guests arrived; however, that was a great gift!
If you are hosting during a holiday month, pick a home decorating item for the month such as Halloween, Easter, Valentine’s Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. Another winner is fragrant candles. My wife loves candles, especially those named after the collective northern states. However, she considers it an indulgence, as do many other women in her group. If you are hosting in the Fall, the manufacturer has a fragrant great harvest spice line. It is quite deceiving when you walk in the front door smelling pumpkin pie, then realize it is a candle. Ditto for sugar cookies! Purchase an assortment of tealights, votives, and tart warmers for a greater variety.
If you want to add mystery to your bunco gift, wrap a big box and add a couple of bricks, then enclose your item. That way there will be no peeking and everyone will wonder what is inside.
