As the light hits on the four diamonds adorning the Super Bowl XIV; one man seems to be happy and enjoying the achievement he’s made so far being the proud owner of the rings. 

Taking a look at him you will definitely see it written all over his face. A smile lingered on Joe Greene’s face as he glances on the ring on his finger. A smiling Joe Greene was quoted saying that he got the ring during the Championship run in the AFC Championship game. He further asserted that he had to wear this particular one to act as a charm and bring good luck to him. Greene says that he has kept the ring for as long as he can remember; and never thought of changing it but has stuck with it.

If there’s a player with a number of rings to choose from, it’s Greene. There are plenty of rings for him to select from. He will also be adding another ring soon by being the owner of six Super Bowl rings. An achievement never been recorded in the NFL history. Greene was among the Steelers’ players who made up the famous “Steel Curtain” defense early in the 1970s.The famous defense was instrumental in making Greene to go ahead and win a streak of major rings in Super Bowl IX, X, XIII and XIV as a player. Greene hasn’t stopped there he has gone ahead and managed to complete another fifth season with the Steelers both as a special assistant/college and pro personnel. Under this capacity he has won another ring from Super Bowl XL and now Super Bowl XLIII. He is now among the only four legends of Steelers staff members, who have managed to win six rings, however having won as a player makes him stands out from the famous four: No wonder Greene considers it as special.During his days in Pittsburgh, Greene wasn’t sure he will win the Super Bowl. As the player personnel and scouting department held up a meeting about the draft and the free agency. Having been a part of the NFL both as a player and coach. When Greene was with Pittsburgh, he never thought of trying the Tampa for Super Bowl XLIII. But after making appearance in four and later attending Super Bowl XL in Detroit, Greene could only watch the Steelers’ victory over the Arizona Cardinals from home, together with his wife Agnes, and other family members. The game was very tough, Greene was quoted saying. But, as ever it never occurred to him even a single second that Pittsburg weren’t going to win. He well knew that the team’s resilience and determination was the key to win the game.
