Google, LG to announce new Nexus phone next month

LG will finally get its own Nexus smartphone which will be based on its recent Optimus G, and it will be modified to fit into the Nexus program  which mandates that it ships with a stock version of Android, has the hardware power to run all “Nexus Games,” and supports Google Wallet, meaning it’s capable of near field communications (NFC).

LG Nexus Phone is expected to come with latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon quad-core processor found in the recent LG flagship phone Optimus G, 2 GB RAM, a 1,280×768 True-HD IPS display, Android Key Lime Pie (4.2), an 8-megapixel camera, and a nonremovable battery. It will also have no microSD slot and only 8GB to 16GB of internal storage, according to Modaco.

If this phone becomes a reality, it will be the first time the South Korean company participates in Google’s Nexus program.
