Android has taken the world by storm, literally because of the amazing applications that are possible with the devices that have this operating system in them. Google has been trying to promote the Android platform for many of the companies that want an operating system for their phones.

In fact the Android operated phones are being activated at a very rapid pace and there is a real chance that the iPhones may be overtaken in the near future in terms of the numbers that are activated each day. Google has released data that the company is actually activating a huge number of about 1,00,000 each day. This is a huge number and this is in the backdrop of the data that there have been 3 million iPhones that have been activated.
Almost 75 percent of the activations of the Android operated phones are in the Northern part of America. There has not been such rapid growth in any other part of the world, though in Western Europe and also in Asia, the growth is at a more docile rate of about 11 percent and 12 percent respectively. In this context, it should also be noted that the iPhones are also having a huge part of their market in North America, though the distribution is near equal and well spread out to other parts of the world.
The fact that the iPhones rule may be because of the fact that they have been in existence for a longer period of time than the Android, but this fact may not help the iPhone in the fact that the rapid growth of the Android operated phones are sure to overtake the iPhones in the near term.
