The cellphone I currently use is the new HTC Incredible. This cellphone has been the best I have used in my lifetime. 6 Months ago I started with a Motorola Droid, and was using it until receiving this phone. There are a few differences between the Motorola and the HTC, which make it a better choice of a phone. Just recently the 2.1 update to the Android OS was released. The 2.1 update added amazing features like multi-touch, and speech to text. One great feature in the HTC model is the built in radio tuner. You must use a pair or headphones as a antenna for the radio feature but you need them to listen to the radio anyway.

Sound quality is far superior to my Motorola droid. The weight of this handset is lower then the weight of the Motorola also. If you want a sleek simpler to use phone I would recommend the HTC, but if a slide out keyboard is needed buy the original Motorola Droid. The Motorola has a slide out keyboard, which is a 1UP to this model, but extended features far outweigh the missing features. Some have said that the phone has a cheap feeling, yes it has a slight plastic feeling, but the material used is different then any cellphone I have owned.

A few bad points: The HTC incredible battery is lower rated then the Motorola, and thinner. I could get a day or more with the battery in the original droid, but after trying the incredible, and running multiple simultaneous apps I can say that the battery sucks. I on an average charge my phone mid-day so it doesn’t run out by the time I get home from work at night. Some applications in the Android marketplace do not work correctly for the HTC incredible. With a smaller built in memory 8GB this is half the standard droid’s 16GB card. The good point of this is the SD slot will take additional memory, but you will need to purchase another card for it. I myself use a memory card reader and adapter that came with my Micro SD card to transfer files between my phone and computer.

The good: The amazing OLED screen makes this phone shine. No really, it practically lights my way through my house on the home screen, because of the brightness of this upgraded screen. Also, the new applications that are specific to certain droid phones really shine on the HTC model. The built in media player is light years ahead of the standard Motorola one, and the photo album is faster and very easy to navigate. The 8MP camera is insanely clear and bright; the dual LED flash will light up any place to take a great picture. In my testing pictures from lower light areas produce lower quality pictures.

Overall in conclusion, the HTC Droid Incredible is a amazing piece of technology. For the average price of $99-$200 dollars this phone is worth every penny. Verizon has the largest network available through the country, with 3G available for most of it. Don’t fall for the iPhone AT&T trap with spotty, unreliable 3G coverage. You can find a unique Android based phone to match your everyday needs. A high point to owning an android phone is the way Google Apps are highly integrated. In a matter of seconds you can get yourself signed into Gmail, and sync your Facebook contacts into your phone, instantly having most your friends, family, and acquaintances at the touch of your fingers.
