Tesla is planning to roll out its “Full Self Driving” (FSD) as a beta software to all customers in North America who paid $12,000 for the Autopilot system. Majority of Tesla owners who bought the FSD package still don’t have access to the FSD Beta. Currently, Full Self-Driving Beta (FSD Beta) is an early version of Tesla’s self-driving software that is currently being tested by a few Tesla owners selected by the company through its safety test score. As per company report, currently 60,000 Tesla owners had gained access to the FSD beta software.
Your vehicle’s current Autopilot package of Basic Autopilot or Enhanced Autopilot will determine the FSD capability subscription price.
Basic Autopilot to FSD capability | $199.00 per month |
Enhanced Autopilot to FSD capability | $99.00 per month |
Elon Musk said that Tesla could potentially achieve level 4 autonomy with the program by the end of 2022, but he has gotten that timeline wrong more times than there are levels of autonomy.* Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) is only available in select markets.
