The New Google phone to be released by T-Mobile will be called MyTouch. Like it’s predecessor it will be powered by Google’s mobile operating system, Google Android. Although consumers have not tested the product it is said to be smaller, lighter, and faster than the T-Mobile G1.

The biggest upgrade of the T-Mobile MyTouch is the Keyboard. Unlike the G1 the keyboard is part of the touch screen. This is a feature that the iPhone has used too much success. The MyTouch vibrates when a key has been touched to let you know that you did it correctly. Another feature that has been added is what is called predictive text.

A second physical change is the size of the phone. It’s much skinnier when compared to the bulky G1. Usually when items are smaller they also weigh less, the same is true for the MyTouch, which weighs in at 4.1 ounces compared to the bulky 5.6 ounces of the G1. The last physical change is the available colors. You will be able to get the sleek white and black along with a shade of burgundy. Don’t worry though I’m sure T-Mobile will release plenty of skins for you to personalize your MyTouch.

A huge issue customers had with the G1 was the terrible battery life. The T-Mobile MyTouch trys to fix this issue by upgrading the battery to a 1340 mAh that claims to have six hour talk time. Of course when the phone is released and tested it will have a much smaller talk time than what is claimed.

The T-Mobile MyTouch will come with 4gb of microSD memory. These cards are not too expensive and are what is going to be used to install more memory into the phone. The ease of upgrading the phone is certainly a great asset however when compared to the iPhone which comes with 32mb of memory this is one area that the MyTouch does not compare.

The MyTouch will come installed with Android. This is a mobile operating system created by Google. Google Android was considered to be the best part of the G1 and this new version comes with a few upgrades that have yet to be released. With the popularity of the Google Android mobile operating system T-Mobile plans to launch a few more android devices in 2009.
