Is it possible to learn how to hypnotize someone without him remembering that he was hypnotized when the session ends? If this were possible, then you can just imagine how much fun hypnotists could literally have with their subjects! Imagine hypnotizing a person and making them forget where he lives or even his name when he awakens from his trance! Yes, hypnotists have indeed been using several memory loss techniques on their subjects for many years now. However, the question remains, do these techniques involving amnesia really work?
The simple answer to this is both yes and no. Yes, it is indeed possible for you to hypnotize a person without the person remembering that he was hypnotized – that is, just for a short period of time. This means memory loss here is just temporary. Right after the hypnosis session, the subject just might experience temporary amnesia, most especially if you were able to give post-hypnotic suggestions as properly as you should. However, this does not mean that the subject would not remember being hypnotized at all. Given some time to recover, a subject just might remember being hypnotized, and could even remember the suggestions made during the session, right down to the very words used.
Here are some of the temporary amnesia techniques used by hypnotists around the world today.
Before and After
Before you perform the induction to ease your subject into a trance, engage him in small talk. Talk about the weather, for instance. Mention about the forecast calling for rain and that you heard thunder just a while ago. After that, begin your session right away. At the session’s conclusion, once your subject emerges from his trance, go back to talking about the thunder and rain. Unfocused minds will always try to complete a thought so upon emergence, your subject will try to recall the start of the discussion on the weather so that he can duly process a conclusion for the “existing” rain discussion. The session in between could very well be forgotten temporarily.
Post-Hypnotic Suggestions
This simply involves giving the command to forget. Just instruct your subject to “forget” everything upon emerging from the trance. When used in conjunction with the aforementioned technique, amnesia could be more powerful and could last significantly longer than usual.
Conversational Amnesia
Waking hypnosis techniques can be a bit more difficult when it comes to instigating amnesia. However, the results can be instantaneous all on their own. For instance, say you are talking with someone about music. In the middle of the conversation, say something odd or off the topic, even something confusing. Then, ask the person what his job is because you cannot remember. Make sure to move your hand right across their eyes while saying this. This instills temporary confusion while the hidden command of not remembering instills temporary amnesia.
If you want to learn how to hypnotize someone, you should always seek a proper hypnosis course or teacher.
