It's the day after Thanksgiving and you are ready to shop. You have received your adverts and have marked and planned and are all ready to a full morning of shopping and getting bargains.
Unfortunately, you have had the H1N1 virus for a few days but you feel a lot better now. These deals only come around once a year and there is no one else in your family who could possibly go in your place.
Now think that you're the person who is healthy. In the scenario above, would you put yourself in the situation of potentially becoming infected with the swine flu in order to get great deals at the Black Friday sales?
We all know the deals are only once a year, although there are certain to be some great offers both before and after thanksgiving this year as stores do all they can to squeeze as much revenue as they can out of the traditional shopping period. But are these deals really good enough to risk what could turn out to be a deadly infection for many Americans?
Like any illness some people are more at risk than others, if you have a young family or maybe you look after elderly parents, then your shopping extravaganza could be putting their lives at risk. If you are reading this and just thinking you will wear a mask, well they have only proved to be effective for 30 minutes. So unless you are intending to shop with Wonder Woman you are sure to be out for a lot longer than that.
All is not lost! You obviously have access to a computer (or you could not read this) so why not take part in the cyber shopping craze that is growing every year?
