A lot of people save for months so they have enough to spend on the day after Thanksgiving, or Black Friday. It is a great day to get a one time only deal of a lifetime, but there is another reason to shop on this day. Some companies produce items which will only be found on this day and no other. This is a one time offer for a specialized item.
Why is this good? For example, a store may offer a netbook with specifications which can not be found at any other time, and offer it for a ridiculously low price. If you are in the market for a laptop or even a pocket organizer, you may opt to buy this gem instead. Perhaps you have been looking for a GPS system, but decide that you can spend less money and get a netbook which can fit nicely into luggage and even a handbag.
Other items can be found only at this sale. Pay close attention to your own personal wish list and shopping list and compare the items to what you may find in the ads when they are delivered on Thanksgiving day. Some deals are so extraordinary that you discover that you must splurge and buy this item before it's gone forever.
One reason stores do this is for a couple different reasons. The first reason is because the store owner wants your business. If you can only find this item at their store and no others, then you're more likely to stand in line for hours on end to be the first to buy it, and possibly other items at their store. The second reason is to see if the item sells well. If the Black Friday sale is a success, then the item may be produced to sell at a time set sometime in the future.
