The giants of the taxi industry, Uber and Lyft, started to work on this technology and they are keen to introduce driverless taxis in the near future. Not only that chances of road collision are significantly reduced, labor cost is also eliminated and passengers do not have to be concerned about the aggressive or distracted driving. The technology installed in self-driven cars will guide about the traffic congestion and will keep the passengers safe from getting late for their meetings.
So, in summation, it can be said that the future of self-driven cars would have mixed impact on the industry- if it is good for some people (passengers), some people (drivers) might have concerns at the same time.
