Cloud computing is the latest buzzword in technology. It is nothing but technology that facilitates access to various applications through a database on the computer. This kind of data sharing could happen in different ways, the most popular and easiest being through the Internet. Whether you are accessing emails or sharing your pictures with your near and dear ones or trying to log into any other database, cloud computing bandwidth requirements play an important role.

Cloud computing is of various types. The first type is a single application computing called platform as a service. As there is only one application to maintain, computing is quite simple. You run your own applications, run on the providing company’s infrastructure, which are then offered to users on the Internet. The advantage for customers is its zero investment or software licensing. The second type of cloud computing is termed as utility computing or managed service providers. Normally used by companies as a supplemental kind of computing, here, applications are open to IT as opposed to the end users. Virus scanning services are an example of this type. The last kind is the one that relates to web services on the Internet, for which bandwidth requirements come into the picture. Here, the Internet is thoroughly taken advantage of for its utility and can be used for a number of purposes by a number of companies.

Millions of small business owners and individuals can hugely benefit from cloud computing. This technology makes available application software as web based applications. A number of cloud computing service providers offer software service, maintain the most up to date network servers, computers, outdated backup systems and reliable power sources. They also have a committed team of specialists who work 24/7 to provide uninterrupted service.

Cloud computing is still in its nascent stages. Although it has been around for a while now, only a fraction of the potential is being utilized. We are not far from the day when our computers would be able to connect to the Internet without even having to boot and log in. In such a scenario, the bandwidth requirements will be something that is even hard to imagine.

Cloud computing is transforming the way Internet is being used. With bandwidth requirements becoming cost effective and efficient, the possibilities of the World Wide Web opening up to new heights is amazing and infinite.

It is amazing to see the way technology has evolved over the years and to imagine the revolution bandwidth requirements will bring is again incredible.
