The denial of the Holocaust.

The denial of the holocaust has been taking place since shortly after the Holocaust, but has had a big ‘boom’ over the past 2 decades! What exactly IS the holocaust denial, and who are the sick people that take place in this? The denial of the holocaust is simple, really. It is a propaganda movement taking place in the USA, Canada, and Western Europe. This group, mainly the Institute for Historical Review (IHR), has been seeking to deny the reality of the Nazi killings of 6 million Jewish people in Europe, during WW2. Although the IHR has the spotlight now, the actual roots of the holocaust denial can be traced back to the Nazi’s themselves. They dismissed all of the overwhelming proof of the Holocaust, and even while the Holocaust was still going on!
The IHR was founded in 1979, by Willis Carto. The IHR is a pseudo-academic enterprise where supposed "professors" with NO credentials in History, no formal academic certification in writing, and career anti-Semites, all come together to try and convene new ways to spread anti-Jewish, anti-Israel and, for some, pro, Nazi beliefs.
Here is a common "proof" that no people were murdered by gas in Auschwitz. It is a quote from http://biblebelievers.org.au/holohoax.htm. "Fred A. Leuchter is America’s leading specialist on the design and fabrication of execution equipment, including homicidal gas chambers. In 1988, Leuchter scraped samples from the alleged gas chamber walls in Auschwitz, Birkenau and Lublin. Cyanide residue would be clearly evident on all these walls if gassings did occur. To his astonishment, Leuchter found no significant cyanide traces in any one of these rooms.
In 1991, the Polish government repeated these tests to disprove Leuchter’s findings, but they as well found no evidence of any gassings ever occurring." What exactly can be said about these findings? Not much, besides the fact that the gas probably does not stick to the wall for such a long time.
A common "fact" about the denial of the holocaust is stating that if the Nazi’s had gassed them, they would have died themselves. If one looks closely, the ‘gas-chambers’ have regular doors and windows, with large gaps. This means it would have contaminated the area. The only way around this would be to say that once the gas leaked outside, it was sterilized.
Perhaps the most intriguing is the autopsy reports. There are none. Not one body has ever been found to have died of gas poisoning.Everybody has seen the pictures of the mass graves. The piles and piles of dead bodies. It is not easy to forget. It is said that most of these people died of typhus or starvation, or even allied bombings. It is even claimed that ‘a great many’ of those bodies are in fact murdered Germans, not Jews. Around 10 football fields should be packed full of dead bodies to autopsy, but not one has been found.
Schools should probably also investigate the claim that The Diary of Anne Frank is a fake. Portions of the diary were written with a ball point pen, which were not in use during the time of Anne Frank. Despite all of this evidence, it is NOT denied that some form of concentration camps took place, because the evidence is to great. In fact, Israel continues to receive trillions of dollars from all around the world for the gassings during the holocaust. Most Holocaust deniers also use the evidence that says most books about the holocast use sources, and these sources are all ridiculed and disproven, such as the book "One Year in Treblinka". I found that the exact same is true for Holocast deniers.

Auschwitz today is a museum. Part of the museum used to be going inside the gas chamber. It is no longer named the gas chamber, but it is implied. Due to insuffeciant evidence, it was closed down. I personally can’t blame them, for all of the ridicule they faced. Not only are gas chambers being dropped from museums, but also things such as "human" lamp-shades, and human soap, which the Nazi’s supposedly made. Pretty soon, the entire Holocaust could go straight down the memory hole, and we can not let that happen! Even IF the holocaust is a hoax, it will serve it’s purpouse one day, because sure enough, history repeats itself

To review, The Holocaust debate is much like a religous or political debate. It goes in circles, and never really ends. There are to many facts and eyewitness accounts to completely discredit anything. The only thing you can do is take all the information you can, and use it to make the world a better place. It is pointless to try and disuade the viewpoints of another, no matter how open-minded they are. That is the beuty of history.
