Outdoor Activities That Relieve Stress

If you are anything like me, life can become pretty boring in just a short span of time. The grind of day-to-day activities wears you down and by the time you reach your weekend you need something fun and exciting to break the monotony. Perhaps you need something with a little bit of adventure and exercise to work out the tension which built from a long work week. There are dozens of activities to participate in outdoors, many of Outdoor gears which are completely free and waiting at the tip of your fingers. Here’s a few ideas for some stress-relieving activities out in the sun.

1) Hiking

Depending on where you live there’s a good place to hike within a 15 to 20 minute drive. You may live near a mountain, woods or even desert area, all of which can be used for hiking. Before going out, prepare yourself by hopping on to www.epicnicbasket.com and buying yourself a picnic backpack. Load your new backpack up with food and drink and head out for your hiking destination. After hiking for a while treat yourself to a nice picnic and enjoy the spoils. The natural exercise and activity should help relieve stress.

2) Water Activities

If you are fortunate enough to live in an area with a beach of some form (lake or ocean), spending a day out swimming and jogging on the beach can be a tremendous stress relief. If you, or someone you know, own a boat, water skiing, wakeboarding, and knee boarding are all wildly fun activities you can do on a lake. Spending a day on a boat cruising the lake is a great way to relax and enjoy the company of friend’s and get healthy exercise while relieving stress. If you live near a river, canoeing is a great way to get exercise and explore the outdoors. There are a vast number of options for water activities depending on your desire and capabilities.

3) Jogging

This one is easy and requires almost nothing. Throw on a pair of tennis shoes and your best exercise gear and hit the streets. You can jog anywhere and it is great exercise and stress relief. If you don’t exercise regularly you can start with short jogs around the neighborhood and eventually you may be able to run in a marathon someday.

4) Camping

If you have a weekend to spare and a location to work with, camping is a great way to get out and enjoy beautiful weather. At most camping locations there are convenient hiking trails and depending on where you live places to swim. Camping can incorporate all the previous activities for some and produce great stress relief and exercise.

If you need a healthy way to break stress, outdoor activities are a tremendous option. These serve a twofold purpose – both getting you out to enjoy the wilderness and relieving your stress via exercise. There are many other outdoor activities which can be done and this is list is only a tipping point. Get out and enjoy the weather and get rid of that stress.
