Fix Mass Effect 2 Crash in Windows 7, Vista and XP

Here are given few steps which can help you fix crashing problem with the game.

Resume from the Previous Saved Time

To stop game crashes, resume the game from the last saved profile. Now continue playing the game and keep on saving the game profiles.

Repair ME 2 Registry Entries

Windows registry is a database where the operating system stores information about game in the form of entries. These entries are accessed every time the game is run on your system. The best way to fix Mass Effect 2 crash is to remove corruption in Windows registry. You can use a system utilities software that provides the feature of a registry cleaner.

Reinstall Microsoft.NET Framework

ME 2 requires Microsoft.NET Framework installed on your system. Due to corruption of Microsoft.NET Framework you may experience Mass Effect 2 crash.

Reinstall it to fix the problem.

Click Start | Control Panel.

Click Programs | Uninstall a Program.

Select “Microsoft.NET Framework” and click “Uninstall” button.

Follow the on screen wizard and restart your computer when the process completes.

Visit Microsoft website and download a fresh installer for Microsoft.NET Framework.

Run the downloaded file to install the product on your computer.

Configure System Volume Properties

To avoid Mass Effect 2 crashes, change the system volume properties by performing the steps given below:

Click Start | Control Panel.

Click Hardware and Sound | Sound.

From “Playback” tab, select your speaker and click “Properties”.

Click “Enhancements” tab.

Disable all the items listed there.

Click OK.

Again, select your speaker and click “Configure” button.

From “Audio Channels” select “Stereo” option.

Click Next.

Mark the box “Full Left and Right” box as checked and click Next.

Click Next | Finish | OK.

Set Real-time Priority

There is a process called the Realtime. Applying this setting can improve game performance. The steps are provided below:

Launch Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete.

Click Processes tab.

Right click the process with name Mass Effect.

Select the option Set Priority | Realtime.

Restart it.
