The HTC One S is one of the handsets from the HTC One Series. It was introduced to the public in the MWC 2012 held in Barcelona Spain. It may not be as famous as the One X but its Slim and Stylish unibody design says it all.

The phone’s 7.6mm frame houses a powerful 1.5GHz dual-core processor. It may not have a Quad-Core processor like its brother the One X, but it is quite able and capable on its own. It comes with the same 8MP camera with flash and all the goodies that the latest Android iteration the Ice Cream Sandwich can give you.

Slim and stylish, this handset looks the part all too well. When you are holding this handset in your hand, its slim form is capable of giving you that pleasing feeling at all times. It comes with a 4.3″ AMOLED screen. It is bright and nice to look at. You will notice that it retained HTC’s unibody design. HTC stepped up and has gone for a metal frame in different finishes too. This is HTC’s way of ditching the boring old aluminum design.

You will also notice that HTC added a rather dramatic micro-arc oxidation chassis on this handset. The phone’s metal frame is bathed in plasma field before it was electrocuted. This then results to that carbonize metal that proves to be tough but boasts that lightweight ceramic finish in the end. Overall, this leaves the handset 5 times tougher than handsets with anodized finish. If that is not enough, then wait until I tell you that this handset had to go through a second finish. Yes, it passed through gradient anodisation. This results to that pleasingly subtle gradient effect that you will notice at the phone’s back panel. It is like saying that this phone is bullet-proof. Well, not really bullet-proof. But it is tough like one. The HTC One S is sturdy and tough. This is even with its slim built. Don’t let its slim body fool you; it is not fragile at all.

Moving on, you will also enjoy the phone’s 8MP camera with flash. There are also some micro-drilled speaker holes on this handset. This replaces the conventional speaker grille. If you look at the phone’s edge, you will see its microUSB slot and power button. There is also the usual 3.5mm headphone jack and volume slider. If you are looking for physical buttons, then this is not for you. You won’t find any on this handset except for its volume slider and power button.
