HTC Titan: The Newest WP7 Mango Smartphone

Once again, HTC lives up to its reputation by bringing avid WP7 fans the largest mobile phone to date. With an 8-megapixal camera and a surprising 9.9 mm thickness, HTC Titan certainly has all the qualities to be a winner. Although it uses the latest WP7 Mango, some users also believe that the mere use of a Microsoft operating system could be its downfall. With only a selected number of applications available, it seems that taking advantage of that big screen may be a tough task after all.

Design and Hardware

During the launch of its latest handsets, HTC claimed to be one of the biggest vendors of Windows phones. As the flagship of the new line of WP7 Mango handsets, HTC Titan features an amazing 4.7-inch screen that is perfect for a wide range of applications. Most users look forward to owning this new handset because it only weighs 160 grams despite its large size. Its huge screen also comes with an amazing resolution of 480 x 800 pixels so it displays bright and sharp images in great viewing angles.

HTC Titan might be big but its ultra-slim design makes it seem less bulky than any other smartphone in the market. Above its screen, a 1.3-megapixel camera is set to support video calling. It also comes with a micro USB port for charging, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a physical shutter button on its right-hand side. Its back sports a gray metal case that features the Windows phone logo. Accompanied by dual LED flashes and additional picture modes, its 8-megapixel camera is also perfect for capturing those amateur shots.

What Is Under The Hood?

HTC Titan runs on a powerful single-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon processor. Backed up by an impressive 512 MB of RAM, it also allows you to perform multiple tasks at once. Powered by WP7 Mango, it also allows users to open multiple applications without the need to close them one by one. With its 8-megapixel camera on its rear, it also stands out from other handsets because it can produce quality pictures in any lighting condition. Its back-illuminated sensor and f2.2 aperture lens certainly improves its performance in areas with poor lighting.

Aside from improving the overall capacity of its camera, HTC Titan also features two shooting models that will help you capture that perfect picture. With its panorama mode, you can create wide-angle shots and stitch three different photos together. On the other hand, its burst shooting mode is perfect for capturing fast-moving action. It can take a series of shots, thus allowing to you to choose the best picture that you were able to take. Finally, it supports 720p HD video recording so you can finally capture fleeting moments and turn them into wonderful memories.

This time around, Microsoft has finally allowed manufacturers to load applications into the new HTC Titan. It comes pre-loaded with interesting applications such as HTC Watch and HTC Hub. The Hub allows you to check out social networking sites, online news, and other important information all in one place. On the other hand, HTC Watch will give you access to thousands of full-length movies and television shows so it will surely take care of your entertainment needs. Overall, HTC Titan seems to be a breath of fresh air a world where mobile phones seem to be getting smaller and smaller.
