Fathers Day Gift Ideas – Make it Easy

Finding the perfect Father’s Day gift idea is not as hard as you may think. You’ll find it’s easy (and fun) to find something your Dad will love, once you know who he is.

Who is Dad?

Most Dad’s fall into one or more of several categories. Once you know what to look for it’s easy to see what kind of guy he is.

Outdoorsman – Usually wakes up early on his days off to be the first to get to the prime hunting or fishing spot. He will often be found cleaning his weapon or pole of choice. He may set up a tent to sleep in, but would probably be just as happy sleeping on the ground in a sleeping bag.

Builder – If it needs to be built, he will come. Often has a garage or shed filled with his tools of choice. May say things like “I can make that” or “Don’t get a new one, I can fix this one.”

Cook – Knows his way around a kitchen, but prefers cooking over fire. Die hard cooks may be found in the cold of winter starting their grill or smoker of choice. Likes creating new dishes, but prefers cooking meat.

Golfer – The earlier the tee time the better. Probably rolls out the door early on the weekends, and may be found on the course after work or during lunch on week days. Very likely to practice putting in the house.

Artist – Painting, writing, music. Whatever his medium, he probably carries it around with him. Guitar in hand, sketch pad on the seat beside him. Whatever it is, he’s always trying to come up with a unique expression of his talents.

Businessman – Always talking about a new marketing idea, sales pitch, or meeting he has been to or is going to. May carry a briefcase, but a smart phone and blue-tooth are a must. Has been known to answer business calls when most people are asleep.

Make it Easy!

Once you’ve determined what type of guy your Dad is, start thinking about what you could give him that would make his life easier. Dads are really easy to shop for. Get them something that will make their hobbies easier, more enjoyable, and simpler. And definitely get them something they would like to have, but won’t get for themselves.

They’ve probably mentioned something before, in a phrase that went something like “That’s neat I’d like to have that.” If he hasn’t mentioned anything specific, then try asking him. I’m sure he’ll have an answer for you.

If he’s a real tough nut to crack, or you enjoy the element of surprise, you may have to dig deeper, and observe longer. I’ll bet he’ll drop some clues eventually. If not, then there’s always the gift card to his favorite store. He’ll love being able to go in and get whatever he wants.

Make it easy to find the perfect Father’s Day gift. Dad is always easy to please, just get him something that will make his hobby or passion easier and more enjoyable, and he’ll use your gift for many years to come.
