All About Branded Designer Sunglasses

Sunglasses are an Affordable Way to Add Designer Fashion to Your Wardrobe

Whether we will admit it or not, just about every woman and quite a few men would love to be able to wear designer fashions. However, the price is usually beyond what we can justify spending for one item let alone a wardrobe.

Designer sunglasses are a hot item right now and every major designer has added them to their fashion line. Pictures of celebrities sporting suglasses by such designers as Chanel, Dior, Prada, Gucci, Versace, Luis Vitton, and Marc Jacobs are everywhere.

Ray Ban sunglasses have been popular for years and are still one of the top brands. One of their top styles the Ray Ban Aviator Sunglasses. Oakley sunglasses are another brand that have been around for a while and sought after today. Ray Ban and Oakley are very popular among men’s sunglasses.

Designer sunglasses are not cheap, but compared to clothing, shoes, and handbags, sunglasses are relatively inexpensive and can add a dramatic designer update to your everyday wardrobe. Finding discount designer sunglasses online is pretty easy, but you need to know what you want, and how to make sure they are authentic.

Things to Know Before You Buy

You may not be planning to wear your designer sunglasses while playing tennis or skiing down a slope, but there are things you should consider before you invest you money.

Designer sunglasses don’t demand the high price tags on the brand name only. They use only high quality materials for their frames, lens, and hardware unlike their cheaper counterparts. They are made to last for years and usually come with a guarantee.

Nylon or composite frames are stronger and will hold up better than plastic. Some frames have a wire core that makes them easy to adjust for comfort. As with sunglasses frames, glass lens have clearer vision and are more resistant to scratches than plastic.

Choose the Best Sunglasses for Your Face Shape

Oval Face Shape – If you have an oval face, you can wear just about any shape sunglasses as long as the size of the frame is appropriate for the size of your face.

Round Face Shape – To counter the roundness of the face, select angular frames such as straight lines, square, triangular. Dark colors such as black or tortoise shell also help to play down the roundness of the face.

Square Face Shape – Curved or rounded sunglasses compliment a square face best. They should fit high on the face to downplay the jawline.

Oblong Face Shape – An oblong face is similar to square in that it is just about the same width from top to bottom with the length being much greater than the width. To counter this, a good choice would be large sunglasses to cover as much of the center of the face as possible to minimize the length.

Triangle Face Shape/Heart Face Shape – A triangular or heart face shape has a broad forehead and narrow mouth and chin. Thin rimmed frames with vertical lines work well to help balance the top to the bottom part of the face and should not sit too high. If you have a triangular face shape try to avoid large frames, heavy nose bridges, bold colors and square shapes. Aviator sunglasses work well with either the triangle or heart face shape.

Diamond Face Shape – With a narrow forehead and chin and broad cheek bones, rimless sunglasses look best on a diamond shape face. To soften the angular shape, sunglasses that have an oval or slightly curved square shape work best.

Large Nose – If you have a large nose, choose a large frame for your sunglasses. Small frames will accentuate the size of the nose while large frames will make it look smaller.

Long Nose – Sunglasses that have frames that are high on the sides drawing attention upward will draw attention away from a long nose. A double nose bridge will also help to make a long nose appear shorter.

Small Nose – A good choice for sunglasses when the nose is small is a light color frame with a high bridge.

Before buying sunglasses, make sure you try them on and wear them for a while to be sure they are comfortable. Since you can’t try sunglasses on before buying online, find the pair you want in a store first?

It goes without saying that the lens should offer 100 % UV protection for your eyes. You may want to also consider a polarized lens to help prevent glare.
