Micro Loans and the Mexican Wall by J.E. Ante

Most all foreign aid and private charity work should be in the form of micro loans to individuals and small business in foreign countries. Much more bang for the buck. Most of the fence building to keep out illegals should go to Mexico micro loan programs instead of billions to build a fence or wall. The politicians are secretly very worried that Mexico will run out of oil in a few years time–which is very true. And Mexico’s oil revenues are what keeps Mexico’s massive social programs afloat now. When the oil runs out in the next few years there will be massive unrest and social breakdown in Mexico without a micro loan program for Mexico now. Fence building is misguided and a waste of taxpayers money. And fence building does not cure the heart of Mexico’s dire economic problems.

Peak Oil is here now and has already past. We will never again pump as much oil in the world as we did at its peak. Micro Loans to individual Mexicans help people and small businesses to help themselves. And when the loans are repaid by the individuals (95% or more is most countries) then the money can be used again and again for more micoro-loans. This breaks the cycle of poverty in most poor countries where poverty keeps people poor and uneducated. And micro-loans that are paid back are far more productive for the local economy.

Large loans to countries by the World Bank are often used unwisely, take a long time to see results, and usually have political strings attached. And many of these large loans are really welfare for rich American companies who design and build the dams, bridges, roads, or whatever else a countries’ leaders need or want. Or the World Bank simply loans money to buy American grain, foods, weapons, and other products. It is true these multi-national companies mostly employ local labor because they have to do this but most of the expensive jobs and profits go to the American companies. So half of all foreign aid is really corporate welfare for big multi-national American companies. (And you thought all of your foreign-aid tax dollars were spent wisely.)

Mexican oil production is declining so much now that Mexico will soon no longer export any oil. All of its oil will have to be used for domestic use. Currently Mexico’s oil revenues pay for extensive needed social programs. When the oil revenue runs out there will be even more massive migrations to the US when Mexico begins to explode into even more lawlessness. This will happen in 2-3 years time. But fence building now is not the answer for longterm security for America or for Mexico. Mexico is already close to anarchy with the drug wars and government corruption. We must make the Mexican people strong from within so that they can deal with their own problems.

Let Mexico’s micro loan programs by America be the first step in changing all of our foreign aid to other countries into micro loans for individuals and small business. Then all of our military members and business organization might carry applications to sponsor micro loans in troubles countries. Then Americans will again be welcomed by the people instead of scorned as unwelcome exploiters of their countries. And these micro-loans to the people will be paid back and can be reloaned again and again. So a billion dollars in micro-loans might eventually result in many hundreds of billions in immediate benefits and future micro-loans as the loans are repaid and loaned again.

Currently America spends many billions of dollars each year in foreign aid unwisely. If only a 10th of this money is spent for micro-loans then our foreign policy and public image will have a dramatic increase for the better. When individuals and small businesses of a foreign country are helped with micro-loans then the graft and corruption of the political and military leaders can not rob the people of the foreign aid ment for them by Americans. And micro-loans are a truly great economic equalizer of all citizens.

Expensive walls and fences that last a few years time or micro-loans to the Mexican people that lasts a lifetime. It seems an easy choice. ” Mr.Obama tear down our walls.” Ronnie where are you when we need you.
