Samsung Fascinate – Android Phone for Verizon Wireless

Samsung Fascinate is a touchscreen smartphone available for Verizon Wireless. The phone supports CDMA 800/1900 2G Networks and CDMA 2000 1xEV-DO 3G networks. It measures 125 X 64 X 10.5 mm and weighs only 116 grams.

Samsung Fascinate has a 4 inches SUPER AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display which supoorts a resolution of 480 X 800 pixels and 16 millions colors. It features Samsung’s TouchWiz 3.0 user interface and has an accelerometer sensor and proximity sensor for auto-rotate and auto turn-off. Other features include multi-touch input method, touch-sensitive controls and swype text input.

The handset runs on Android operating system and has a powerful ARM Cortex A8 1 GHZ processor. It has an internal memory of 2 GB which can further expanded to up to 32 GB using an external microSD card. Users can store practically unlimited entries in the phonebook and call records. Samsung Fascinate has a high resolution 5 megapixel camera which take images up to a resolution of 2592 X 1944 pixels as well as record videos at 30 frames per second. A secondary VGA camera is also provided for video conferencing. Other features of the camera include autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, etc.

Entertainment features include a music player which supports MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC file formats, video player which supports MP4/DivX/WMV/H.264/H.263 file formats and FM radio with RDS. Other applications include VZ Navigator, HTML browser, PUSH Mail, IM, RSS reader, Google maps, digital compass, Google Search, Gmail, etc. Social networks like Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, etc. are also integrated.

Data transfer features include 3G Rev. A with speeds up to 3.1 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n; DLNA, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP and microUSB v2.0. The phone has a Standard Li-Po 1500 mAh battery which offers excellent stand-by and talk time.
