Best Animation Software for Mac

A year ago I was looking for the best animation software for Mac to use at home. I had never animated before and I had no idea what I was looking for. I didn’t have a lot of money at the time. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money either. I can start things sometimes and get bored easily.

So, I wanted to test the water first with something good but inexpensive. If I got into animation in a big way, I decided, I could purchase a more expensive product later.

As it happens, I did get into animation in a big way and I have now upgraded to a more expensive product!

I’ve put lots of reviews of what I consider to be the best animation software for Mac and also for PC on my web pages. The link is at the bottom of this article.

The product I started off with though was inexpensive and actually excellent for me back then as a beginner. It actually works well for beginners to semi-pro animators. I now use Poser but back then for $47 Illusion Mage was incredible and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to start off with best animation software for Mac and PC.

I purchased it for $47, reduced from nearly $100 (it’s still at that reduced price now) and it was a brilliant decision on my part. It was easy to understand and basically taught me how to animate.

Illusion Mage is designed for both beginners and more advanced users. As a beginner myself at that time, I was impressed at how user friendly the package was. Unlike the free 3D animation software I’d downloaded before, with Illusion Mage I began to create digital animation immediately. This was a lot to do with the excellent video tutorials and support pages. You just don’t get that with free and unstable software.

The video tutorials explain everything you need to know about the 3D animation program and step-by-step instructions on what to do for beginners. Combined with the manuals it all made the learning process far easier. I was creating my first project within hours of downloading everything.

If you are anything like me then you’ll be a bit impatient and will want to get started immediately. But I thoroughly advise that you spend a couple of hours watching the videos and reading the manuals as it will save you loads of time later on. Like anything in life, a bit of patience is needed in the early stages but you won’t regret this purchase when you start seeing the results.

At that particular time, Illusion Mage was definitely the best animation software for Mac at that price. I still think it is to be honest. I mean, you cannot go wrong for what it offers at under $50.

I have since upgraded to a more expensive animated software. Poser 9 (which currently has 80% off). You can read reviews of all the Poser series and lots more on my website.

The link to my reviews website is below. I hope you enjoy reading my reviews and buy the best animation software for Mac.
