Welcome to "Little Switzerland" Also Known As Church Stretton, Shropshire

Church Stretton which is in Shropshire was called “little Switzerland” by the Victorians. This was because of it’s gorgeous hills and valleys.

Known for being walker friendly, Church Stretton even has an annual walking festival each June.

The breathtaking views are even more clear from Church Stretton golf club. This is the second highest golf course in all of England. They also have their own restaurant and bar for a convenient meal after a great day of golf.

There are many things to see and do in an around Church Stretton.

Take a step back in time while visiting “Acton Scott historic working farm”. Here you will see horses working in the fields using vintage farm equipment. They also churn their own butter, and milk their own cows. All of this food is used inn the preparation of the foods served at the farm.

“Wildhope manor” is an Elizabethan manor which was built in fifteen eighty five. This manor is unfurnished, however, the interior offers spectacular craftsmanship. You will even see the beautiful, wooden, spiral staircase.

Hawstoke Historic Park and Follies is also nearby. This well known park is the location of the television series of “The Chronicles of Narnia.” The views in this park are un matched in their beauty.

Also very nearby is “Burnell castle” this magnificent castle was frequently visited by Edward the first.
