How To Repair An iPhone 4 That Suddenly Stopped Working

[ad_1]

We regularly receive calls from upset iPhone owners telling us that their iPhone 4 has just died and will not turn on, charge, boot or react to them in any way.

We seem to have discovered a nice and easy solution that works most of the time. The way to fix your problem is to simply do a hard reset on the iPhone.

If you do not already know how to do this, here are the instructions on how to do a hard reset: All you need to do is to hold the home button and the power button in at the same time for 15 to 20 seconds. After around fifteen seconds, the Apple logo should show up and your beloved iPhone 4 will boot up and be back to normal. If you are confused about the steps, there are some good guides that can be found on YouTube. Just search for "iphone 4 hard reset" and you will find videos that will explain the whole process to you, step by step.

We are not sure what creates this problem it appears to occur quite often. We think it is a bug in the iPhone software that just makes the phone completely freeze working now and then. If this tactic does not fix the issue then you take the iPhone in to your service provider if it's under warranty. If it is not, take it to a reputable iPhone repair centre.

In order to avoid having this problem, it is recommended that you always keep your iPhone updated on the latest iOS software as each new release contains many bug fixes. Apple is continually striving to have the most stable cellular phone operating system available. By keeping updated, you will at least know that you have the best possible software on your iPhone and that it has the least possible change of crashing. This obviously is not a guarantee but it is a best practice.

It is a common though that jailbreaking your iPhone can lead to your phone freezing, as we have described earlier in this article. While it is possible that jailbreaking can "brick" your iPhone, it will not cause the problem we are dealing with now. We have seen this happen on both jailbroken and standard iPhones. We however, have not seen this problem on any iPhone 3G's or 3GS's, only the iPhone 4. We wonder if the iPhone 4S will suffer from the same problem.
