Philips is going to sell their Hue-LED light bulbs tomorrow only in Apple stores. The Philips Hue bulbs can be customized from 16 million colors powered by a green, blue, and red LED in each bulb, you can also set a scene with customizable brightness and time on when the scene will turn on and off. The bulb can customized through an app for iOS, but an Android app will be available in December.
Priced at $199 for an introduction pack that comes with 3 bulbs, a Hue bridge to connect to your router, and a LAN cable if you’re router is far. If you have it set up, you can now change the color of each bulb or choose from one from a relax, read, concentrate, or energize (yes) mode that it comes with. Additional Hue bulbs can purchased for $59, and Philips says one bridge can support 50 bulbs. Everything starts selling tomorrow These new bulbs adhere to the ZigBee LightLink wireless standard, so as long as your setup is compliant they should work without a hitch.
