Apple synonymous with the computer market has now launched what seems to be a hugely popular mobile phone called simply the iPhone. What is this new iPhone ,why is it so sought after and why so much hype.

Calling is a simple process by simply tapping a name or number from your address book, call log or favourites list. You can also listen to your voice mail in any order you like; very handy for prioritising calls from work over personal messages. You can automatically sync your contacts from the Mac , PC or internet.

The iPhone comes complete with a widescreen 3.5-inch display with touch controls allowing to watch and listen to all your content from your iTunes library automatically synchronizing with your pc or Mac

The IPhone comes with the Safari web browser, which will automatically sync with your bookmarks on your Mac or PC. It is Wi-Fi and Edge compatible. You can also use the iTunes store on the move simply log on from a Wi-Fi hotspot to download all your favourite tracks from the iTunes store

Proximity sensor

When you place the iPhone to your ear , the proximity sensor turns off the display to save power and prevent touching the controls until the iPhone is moved away from your ear again. There is a built in ambient light sensor. This will automatically adjusts the display’s brightness to the suitable level for the present ambient light.

The IPhone has a revolutionary new technology the multi touch display what this means is that you can scroll zoom and flick though pages by simply using you fingers. You would have to try the phone to appreciate what a giant step forward this is from a control aspect.

With the hype that has surrounded the launch its sometimes hard to make an informed choice, but the IPhone is an exception to this with its easy to use interface, exceptional video and sound capabilities the IPhone is in a class of its own. Only time will tell if apples move into the already crowded mobile phone market will be a success. From my point of view, the IPhone can only be a good thing replacing you ipod and phone in one easy to use stylish package.
