8 Essential Apps Every Smartphone User Should Have

It’s so easy to have a smartphone that it almost feels like you need one nowadays. You can click selfies, take videos of your cat, and even stalk people on Facebook. But what else can you do with these little devices? Here are some apps that every smartphone user should have! They’re not just for fun either – most of them will help you out in the long run and become essential parts of your life.

1. Evernote

This is a great app for those of you who are forgetful or just busy and don’t have time to write down all your ideas. This app allows you to take notes quickly on the go so that later when inspiration hits, whether it be in class or at work, you can jot things down immediately instead of having to scramble for a piece of paper. Plus,  it’s also great for students who are constantly taking notes in class and want to go back later and study them. You can easily find this app on the play store or 1337x.

2. Gmail:

There may be some people out there who don’t like getting emails, but I doubt they live with smartphones! This convenient email app allows you to stay on top of things even when you’re not at home or in the office. Whether it is for work or personal reasons, this app is an essential one to have because everything goes through your email, and there’s so much you can do with it! You can also get rid of spammy apps that try to send you ads all the time and only receive emails from people who matter.

3. Google Calendar:

Let’s face it – sometimes apps are just more convenient than the web. This is especially true for apps that have a short life span or don’t need to be accessed often because they’re not useful 24/365. Google Calendar, however, has become an essential app even though there are websites out there with calendars on them!  You can create events, invite people to them, and even get alerts, so you don’t forget your friend’s birthday.

4. Facebook:

There are apps that can do this, but nothing beats the convenience of Facebook when it comes to staying in touch with friends. You may not necessarily need a Smartphone for this one because you could go on their website and get access to all your messages – or even chat if people still use Messenger. But downloading an app is definitely more convenient than trying to find time at the computer every day!

Once you’ve got FB installed on your phone, make sure you download both Messenger AND Instagram, so they don’t eat up space by putting them into separate folders (or better yet, create shortcuts).

5. Trello:

If you have a job, chances are it has some sort of to-do list. Whether you keep all your tasks on an Excel spreadsheet or just use sticky notes stuck around the house, Trello will make keeping track even easier! You can create boards for different projects and lists within them, so everything is organized in one place instead of taking up space everywhere else.

This app is perfect for people who are constantly on the move or have a lot of things to do in one day. No need to stress over forgetting something important – Trello will be there reminding you every step along your journey!

6. Snapseed:

It’s so easy to take a photo nowadays – just open up the camera app and snap! But did you know that there are apps that can do way more than just basic editing? Snapseed is one of them. It has all sorts of filters, effects, and tools for customizing every aspect of your photos until they’re exactly how you want them. You can also play around with text or even add stickers if it strikes the mood (or the cat).

This app makes taking pictures so much fun while still making sure everything looks professional when it comes time to show off what you’ve taken. All these nifty features come in handy whether you’re looking to take a quick selfie or snap something more complex.

7. DuckDuckGo:

When it comes to apps that can help you search for things, Google is the obvious choice. While there’s nothing wrong with this app, DuckDuckGo does its job just as well, if not better, at protecting your privacy by avoiding personalized searches and displaying results anonymously, so they aren’t skewed in favour of advertisers.

It also has a couple of extra perks like showing weather forecasts right on the home screen, helping you find places nearby using Foursquare or Yelp data when searching for local businesses/restaurants/etc., and even visual features like night mode!

8. Spotify:

Spotify is a great app for those who love to listen to music. It’s not just an mp3 player, but also has apps that you can use on your computer and even offline! Spotify apps are available on both android and iPhone devices, so whether you’re listening from home or out with friends, there’ll be no need for any other music apps because this one does it all.

While free users have advertisements between songs which can get annoying after a while, if you don’t want ads, then paying the monthly subscription fee will remove them as well as give unlimited skips in every song so you won’t have to hear ones that aren’t what you feel like listening right now unless of course, your favourite musician comes up and you get to hear their song and stick around for it.

Conclusion:

From apps that save you time to apps that help you save money, there’s an app for nearly everything – and these ones will definitely become essential parts of your life!
