MacOS: The Big Sur Experience

You may be wondering what is new in mac os big sur, as many people are. One answer is the search facility on MacOS. This has not been great up to now and now you can search much more easily.

It is fully integrated so when you search for something it searches the internet as well as just the files in your iCloud and stored on your computer.

Google translate is awful. Anyone who has ever used it must know that it’s translations are not accurate and when it translates a webpage you often just get the gist of what was said.

Previously if you wanted to translate a page using Safari’s browser you had to select the content of the page and then copy and paste it manually into Google Translate. This was not ideal.

Now the newly redesigned Safari allows for extensions for the first time. It also comes with Apple’s version of translate meaning a webpage in another language will automatically appear in English.

Apple’s translation feature is a lot more intuitive and accurate than the translation feature on Google.

Make Your Own Widgets: Redesigned Notification Center

Apple’s widgets have always been underdeveloped in Mac. Now you can customize then and create a more personalized experience for your computer. They are much more intuitive.

Widgets and notifications are located in the same window rather than in two separate windows so you can always access the information you need.  If you are a developer you can now install the public beta to test it.

Big Sur Is Great

Apple’s macOS Big Sur is set to be one of the greatest updates to the Apple lineup yet. With a redesigned user interface your experience will feel refreshed and cleaner than ever. Many of the features you might love about iOS and iPad OS are also coming to the Mac for the first time as well.
