Having last used a Macintosh long ago – in the days of Mac's first graphic interface inception with the Macintosh 128K in 1984 – returning to the Mac Operating System has been a stretch of memory and a plight of pleasure.
Ever since my first induction with 128K, on its end came the continued use of PC's and Windows based software from the late 80's through to this very year (2008). Now, near on 20 years later, my hands are back to the Mac – the new Apple MacBook Air to be precise. Having spent the last 9 years with my primary computer being a laptop (being somewhat nomadic in lifestyle yet needing to maintain contact and professionalism), these have always been windows based.
The minor nuances between Windows operating system and MacOS are apparent and currently still a second thought is required to combat these nuances. Give me another month or two and the short-keys will be old hat. That said there are notable differences in design and pleasure between the two systems and when comparing the style and portability of the Apple MacBook Air series to other windows based laptops or presumably even other MacBooks a few things stand out.
What I like about the Apple MacBook Air;
– The extreme portability of this computer; makes it a pleasure to take on trips either business or pleasure without weighing you down.
– it's sleek design, makes it a stylish accompaniment to your portfolio. The foldaway portal means they're less likely to be damaged.
– The lack of optical drive, although a bit dubious of this at first, actually makes sense – like the video, I suspect the file formats of dvd / cd will be increasingly redundant and less moving parts means less things to go wrong.
Would I go back? Could I go back? Having experienced the pleasure of the Apple MacBook Air and its finer lines in both operating system and hardware, I somehow doubt that I could. A deLIGHTful ultra portable ….. The Apple MacBook Air
