Disassemble Your Dell Notebooks

Are you an owner of a dell notebook? If so then read on to find out ways how to keep your dell notebook working for longer.

We all know dell is a great brand but computers in general have a very short lifespan. Some notebooks will last for quite a long time and others will break down quite quickly. You never know what you have till it happens or not for that matter. When your notebook breaks down, you are at a loss, meaning you can not read your emails, can not log in to Facebook or can not access your work files or your school projects.

There are many things that can go wrong with your notebook, some are serious such as hardware failure and some might just be software errors which are not that critical. It might just be a pop up ad which you got because you visited a site that's inappropriate. Either way, any problem you might get there may be a way to solve it.

We'll concentrate on problems relating hardware on this article. Some hardware issues you might experience with dell notebooks are: network issues, wifi connectivity, dim screen, no sound and keyboard not responding. Let's have a look at no sound issue, although this could be attributed from a software issue side just saying that the sound drivers have been installed properly and there is still no sound from the speakers but sound is on the headset via the headphone jack . At this point we'll conclude that the internal speakers are complete broken and that the speakers need replacements. Depending on the model of your notebook here are the general walkthrough of what needs to be taken in order to get the internal speaker replaced.

Most internal speakers are located inside the notebook and it requires you to be able to disassemble the notebook completely to locate the speakers. Firstly the battery needs to be removed then all removable components such as the hard drive and DVD drive needs to be taken out also. Remove all screws underneath the notebook, and then remove the keyboard bezel. This will reveal the screws holding the keyboard in place. Remove the keyboard and unscrew all that holds the palmrest to the bottom chassis. Once the screws holding the palmrest is removed, you can then proceed to disassemble the notebook by removing the palmrest. When the palmrest is taken out you will normally be presented with the guts of your notebook, the motherboard. At this point you will see the internal speakers connected to the motherboard. Simply disconnect and replace with a new speaker then reverse the steps to install everything back again. When the notebook is in one piece, turn on and test your new speaker. The tools you will usually need are small Philips and flat head screw driver.
