HP Spectre 13t Overview: A Great-Looking, Ultrathin and Lightweight Laptop

HP has unveiled the thinnest full-power laptops with the Spectre series. The 13-inch unit weighs just 2.45-lbs and is only 10.4-mm thick. A bold appearance also helps the HP Spectre 13t stand out. It’s not the same boring silver or black as most laptops, but rather smoky gray with attractive gold accents. The hinge, which is positioned closer inward than what is usual for standard laptops, is bright, jeweled gold. The lid is aluminum and the bottom panel is carbon fiber. The mix of materials serves to give this machine the right balance between stiffness and weight.

The 13t has a nice keyboard as well. The keys are fairly shallow, and there is a regular island-style keyboard that most users are familiar with. The 13.3-inch diagonal display (1920×1080) offers a full HD experience with IPS technology. The screen is protected behind Corning Gorilla glass.

Inside the body there are plenty of impressive components, such as 6th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor (two-cores) with HD graphics 620 and 8GB standard system memory. The 256GB – 512GB M.2 SSD comes with the latest PCIe NVM(e) technology. Users can expect several hours of battery life with the four-cell 38-Wh Li-ion polymer.

The external ports include 1 USB 3.1 Type-C Generation 1 and 2 USB 3.1 Type-C Generation 2, as well as a headphone/microphone combo. The three USB-C type ports are positioned on the rear edge of the casing. Two of these ports support Thunderbolt 3.0 technology. Dual display outputs are enabled as well as extremely fast data transfer speeds to and from external devices with Thunderbolt-compatibility.

Trackpad and SSD for the HP Spectre 13t

For a non-tacky feel, the trackpad features a textured glass surface. While the pad may seem a bit cramped vertically, it is hardly noticeable, and still provides sufficient space for comfortable general use.

With its all-SSD storage and 8GB of RAM, the HP Spectre 13t is a very fast machine. It’s not a powerhouse you would want to replace a regular desktop computer with, but it still has a lot of capabilities as an ultra-thin laptop. In fact, it isn’t as limited like some Core M laptops out on the market today. It can even be used for playing some games that do not have heavy, demanding graphics.

Overall, this is a nice notebook with a futuristic design and solid build. It has a surprisingly powerful CPU for its thin, featherweight body. As long as you don’t mind the lack of traditional USB port, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain with the HP Spectre 13t.

If you’re an online deal hunter, HP has plenty of great offers for laptops and accessories. HP Spectre 13t coupons are available whenever you need them. This is a highly-rated laptop that you don’t want to miss out on.
