However we made it in business, usually we didn’t do it alone. There were many people along the way who opened a door, gave us a break or leg up. Why not give back as you can to those who need it. In a way pay it forward. You may or may not be able to re -pay those who helped you but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try. Friends, allies, and those special people in our lives deserve recognition, attention and thanks. Further when you look around your community and I’m sure you can find someone worthy of a little assistance. Take time out to encourage, uplift or to give financial support just as someone did for you.
This is important in business for lots of reasons. The first reason is that giving keeps you humble and reminds you of where you came from. I’m sure that you remember your own struggle to succeed in business. The second reason is it keeps your money flowing. Giving actually increases the money flowing into your business by the law of attraction. What you put out is what will come back multiplied. You are acting and operating as if you have abundance.
A third reason to give is that you don’t know how the tide may turn for you or those you have helped. A person you helped in the past might just be in a position to re-pay the favor or give you a helping hand a little down the road. I think about the many business owners who had everything wiped out when Katrina struck. In circumstances beyond our control such as illness, accidents, natural catastrophes we are really only one step away from disaster.
Another great reason is to be an example of good. Set off a chain reaction of good deeds. Watch the ripple effect go through your community. Change the community and you begin to change the world around you.
If that isn’t enough of a reason for you then how about this? Giving feels good!! When you succeed with a job well done you will know that deep in your heart that you made a difference. You also just might find something that you really like or have a passion for which brings incredible joy into your life and that is its own reward. Isn’t that what it is all about?
