How to Save Your Laptop Battery

Like any other kind of battery, your laptop battery comes with a limited life. As a laptop consumes a great deal of power, a laptop battery has a shorter lifespan because of your laptop’s activities. Once your laptop battery’s lifespan is over, you need to replace it with a new one. This means you will have to make an investment. That is why all laptop owners take the best care of their laptop batteries to prolong the lifespan of the batteries. Yes, my friend, you have read it right. You can prolong the lifespan of your laptop battery.

In today’s post, I am going to share with you four proven methods to save your laptop battery.

Without further ado, let us dive in:

Unplug devices from your laptop

Whether it is a USB device or a second monitor through VGA, any device that is plugged into your laptop eats battery because the device will require CPU to work in order to access the device. There are certain USB devices that consume a great deal of power, meaning they will drain the battery quickly. So, my friend, you should unplug the device you are not using. Never keep it plugged into the laptop. This will surprisingly save your battery.

Shutdown or activate sleep mode when not in use

You are working on your laptop. Suddenly, you have to go on an errand. If the charger is not connected, you should shut down your laptop or activate the sleep mode. This saves the battery. When you activate the sleep mode, your laptop will resume from the point you have left it before. On the other hand, if you shut down the laptop, it will go through the bootup sequence, which may consume a bit of power. So sleeping mode is the best option.

Activate power saver button

When you activate the power saver button on your laptop, the operating system of your machine adjusts software and hardware behavior to use less power from your machine. The power saver option has an ability to change the behavior of hard drive or CPU in such a way that it will be active only when it is required to perform certain functions. If not required, the hardware will remain inactive to conserve energy. My friend, activate power save option to save the battery of your laptop.

Turn off wireless and Bluetooth

Your laptop will always try to search for Bluetooth and wireless connections if you leave these functions active. So, if you do not need these connections, it is always better to disable these features. Doing so will certainly save your laptop battery.

Also, turning down the volume when playing a movie and lowering brightness save battery.

If you follow these tips, you will certainly prolong the lifespan of your laptop battery.
